Effects of 1-methylcyclopropene treatment on the quality of red ‘Fuji’ apples fruit during short-term storage

Abstract Objectives The aim of this study is to determine the mechanism through which 1-methylcyclopropene (1-MCP) affects quality red ‘Fuji’ apples, were stored for a short duration. Materials and Methods Red apples treated with 1-MCP (1.0 μl/L), at 25 °C 0, 12, 24, 48, 72, 96 h, ethylene production was measured. An integrated metabolomic transcriptomic analysis performed on 24 h. Results release significantly delayed from subjected treatment. By performing an transcriptome metabolome analyses, we identified 117 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) 44 accumulated metabolites (DAMs). functional enrichment analysis, found that DEGs involved in following pathways: carbon metabolism (LPD2, gpmA, LTA2, ACC, PSAT1, MdCAS2), phytohormone signal transduction (EBF1), amino acid (MdACS-1), fatty (LOX1.5, KCS4, KAS1), energy (Lhcb1, Lhcb6, PsbY, GPDHC1, PUMP5), metabolic pathways (TRE1, HEXO1) cell wall (CSLG2). Thus, these ripening fruits, they controlled fruits post-harvest stage. enriched DAMs. These be individually pathway, secondary metabolite biosynthesis, phenylpropanoid flavonoids, flavonol synthesis. Conclusions results indicate inhibits biosynthesis suppresses metabolism. Moreover, it also downregulates enzymatic related fruit quality.
